Hi welcome to my series on how to start loving Windows 11 now that it's time for Windows 10 to say bye 👋🏻. Until 14th of October I will explore Windows 11 features and functionality 💗.

In my 10th blog post in my Windows 11 series I wanted to share a few of my favorite apps that I use in Windows 11 everyday. Since this is a Microsoft focused blog and my everyday job includes working with Microsoft 365 I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to combine the subjects 🤠. Join me when I share eight apps I use one a daily basis in Windows 11!

Why an app and not just the browser?

I don't have a better answer to this question more than sometimes you just want a desktop app, I know I do 😇. I install my apps either through the Microsoft Store or the company portal which is a store controlled by your company. The apps I'll share today are apps I use on a daily basis, I would go as far as I would not be able to manage work life without them 🥹.

Eight apps I use one a daily basis in Windows 11

Microsoft To Do - The app for managing your tasks and to do's. Microsoft To Do consists of the difference lists you create (for example I have Community, Private and Work), seeing flagged emails and prioritizing your day. To do is not the place for teamwork but it's a great place to manage your personal productivity.

Sway - This is probably THE most underused app in Microsoft 365. Sway is a hidden gem that makes it super easy to create visually nice-looking presentations, newsletters, stories or as me a simple invite for my wedding nine years ago. The amazing thing about Sway is that it's easy to share and will adapt to any device, making it ideal for newsletters to frontline workers. In the app you can create, design, populate with content and share.

Forms - The best place in Microsoft 365 to collect feedback, run quizzes or gather any kind of data with an easy to fill out form. Adapts to screen size and it is very easy to share. And you can from the app create, share and update old forms.

Microsoft Loop - I'm still planning my first blog post on Loop but Loop is a very new addition to the Microsoft 365 family. I usually call it OneNote on steroids, but it's a very fancy looking notebook made for collaboration. Collaborate in real time with your team on flexible pages that can keep ideas, notes, tasks and more. I love Loop for notetaking and organizing my ideas (my blog posts are always written in Loop 😍). Ok I promise blog post on Loop coming up.

Microsoft Whiteboard - Have you ever used a Whiteboard in a room, taken a photo and thought wow I will never see that content again 😋. Well Microsoft Whiteboard is your place, use it in Teams meetings, use it standalone, use it in a team. It has templates, it has sticks notes, it's saved online 😉. Just like a real whiteboard, it's a great place to brainstorm, sketch and plan together to keep on being creative!

Save Edge site as an app - And if you are in a situation where you feel wow why isn't this site available as an app? Then I assume you use Edge and there you can easily turn your best websites into handy apps. Apps that work as other apps; pin them, launch as an app, arrange amongst your other apps. How do you do this? Open the website you want as an app go to ... > More Tools >Apps > Install this site as an app.

Clipchamp - Also a fairly new addition to the Microsoft 365 family. I do make videos for work and for my blog and LinkedIn from time to time. Clipchamp is an easy video editing tool that makes it easy to record, cut, adjust and make beautiful videos quickly and creatively.

Copilot - I don't think Copilot needs any introduction, but did you know there's both a consumer and work app. In the Microsoft 365 Copilot I love how easy it is to engage with my work content and in the Copilot for consumer app I just love how me and Copilot can talk like we are friends 😆.

My thoughts

Yes, I do love apps, and there are so many good ones to help me. I like how I can choose to work in a desktop app or in the browser, pro choice yay. And I'm also glad I can save a website as an app if there's no available app.
